As a teenager, Margaret Mary Alacoque experienced visions of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, but assumed that this was normal for everyone. After becoming a Visitation nun in 1671, the visions continued, and Christ asked her to promote devotion to His Sacred Heart.
